Definite Purpose Motors
Lincoln offers a number of motors for unusual service conditions and particular applications.
These three phase motors have been in the Lincoln catalog for over 40 years! Multiguard motors stand up to the most daunting environments and applications anywhere including tunnel boring machines, wind turbines, salt mines, concrete and asphalt plants, size reduction equipment, saw mills, dust collection systems and rendering plants.
Multiguard features an ODP enclosure and a winding protection system unique to the motor industry. The windings are impregnated and encapsulated in a thermo-setting, specially formulated polyester-based compound using a high-pressure injection-molding process. The entire winding including end turns and stator slots is encased in a homogenous mass of plastic.
Multiguard features include NEMA Design B performance, premium Class F Plus insulation system, durable steel frame, cast iron end brackets and a five year warranty. Made in U.S.A.

BRAKE MOTORS – NEW!
These single and three phase TEFC motors are ideally suited for use on conveyors, machine tools, door operators, speed reducers, cranes and other industrial machinery requiring quick stop and/or holding torque. They feature Stearns 56,000 series brakes, a drive-end C-Face, NEMA Design B performance, premium Class F insulation, durable steel frame construction, UL recognized component listing and CSA certification. RESILIENT MOUNT MOTORS
Resilient mount Signature Series ODP three phase motors are used where quiet, vibration-free motor operation is required, mainly in the air handling industry. The special base and rubber mounts isolate the motor from the driven equipment. Made in U.S.A.

CLOSE-COUPLED JM AND JP PUMP MOTORS
NEMA defines a face-mounting close-coupled pump motor as an open or totally-enclosed motor, with or without feet, having a shaft suitable for mounting an impeller and sealing device. Special frame size suffix letters are used for this type of motor – 213JM and 213JP. JM and JP pump motors have several unique features:
- C-Face type bracket – the shaft end bracket used to mount the motor directly to the pump is similar to, and in some cases identical to, a C-Face bracket
- Special shaft – the shaft is stepped, starting at a large diameter closest to the motor and ending with a smaller diameter. The pump’s impeller is directly mounted on the motor’s shaft and a threaded hole in the end of the shaft is provided to secure the assembly using a bolt. JM and JP motors differ primarily in the overall length of the shaft; JM is the shorter of the two.
- Locked bearing – a minimal amount of shaft end play or in and out movement is required for pump motors to allow a close tolerance fit between the impeller and housing.
Most JM and JP motor applications involve frame sizes 143 to 256 with NEMA standard HP and speed assignments; nevertheless, NEMA also defines JM and JP motors in the 280 and 320 frame series and as high as the 360 series for JP.

Note Jet Pump motors involve two digit frame sizes and use a “J” suffix in the frame size (ex. 56J).
FIRE PUMP MOTORS
These ODP motors are UL listed (UL1004A) for fire pump applications per NFPA 20. They feature 1.15 service factor, premium Class F insulation system, y-delta start capability (frames 284T and larger), five year warranty and made in U.S.A.

A large number of consumer and industrial products marketed in European Union (EU) countries must carry the CE mark. CE is an abbreviation for Conformite Europeene.
The EU has established a system of directives (or laws) which require a product to conform to all Union health, product safety, environment and consumer protection requirements that apply to it. The product must have been the subject of appropriate conformity evaluation procedures. Manufacturers are able to demonstrate compliance with a directive by means of a Self-Declaration and application of the CE mark to the product.
The “Machinery Directive” and the “Low Voltage Directive” cover electric motors (50-1,000 V, single and poly-phase, AC).
